Tenap Nguyen, Interior
designer and ARC+ user, talks about the Airbus
pavilion project at the aeronautics salon in
Dubai
« I've been using
ARC+ for 18 years now. For my line of work, it is an
excellent software»
Encounter with Tenap
Nguyen, Director of Design at the HG Creations
Agency (www.hgcreations.fr), specializing in
the conception and the execution of exhibition stands,
settings for various events and unique temporary
constructions for over 30 years. Due to its unique
positioning of transitory luxury events, HG Creations
has won several design awards. One of these awards is
the "Stratégies" magazine [Strategies] interior design
award for the creation of the Airbus
pavilion, designed for the initiation of the A380. HG
Creations' long association with Airbus accounts for its
becoming an incontrovertibly important reference in the
domain of aeronautics.
The HG Creations team has been developing
new concepts for Airbus Pavilions for the last ten
years. « Today, the look is very minimalist, in
white and cream with color shades, fabrics inspired by
mashrabiya patterns, and a few touches of frosted glass
which confer a refined elegance to the space »,
says Tenap Nguyen.
HG Creations has
followed these artistic guidelines while planning the
450m2 pavilion for the aeronautics salon in Dubai on
November 2005. Building of the pavilion lasted seventeen
days, and the finished project included a reception
lounge with a special VIP area reserved for management,
a restaurant for clients (Local as well as foreigners)
and a VIP restaurant. Except for the padded leather and
the wall stucco, all elements were designed in record
time of three days, manufactured in France and then sent
to Dubai.
This project has been entirely modelised
using ARC+, which Tenap Nguyen is using
now for over 18 years. He has chosen ARC+ for its
performance and the flexibility it offers in the
creation and manipulation of lines and curves. Nguyen
also finds that the ease with which custom-built
elements are created in ARC+ is essential for his work,
especially for those unique temporary structures such as
the Airbus project. He concluded by saying that each CAD
software has stronger and weaker points, and for his
line of work "ARC+ is an excellent software".
